Rain or shine, St. Patrick's Day is a party in Uptown Butte.  With its arrival on a Sunday this year and a very favorable weather forecast, things definitely could get a little crazier than normal this year.  Add to that, the Montana Tech Orediggers are going to be tipping the weekend off by hosting Wayland Baptist in an NAIA National Tournament game Friday evening at 7pm at Kelvin Sampson Court.  And the Montana Tech Alumni Association wants to get things into full-on party mode up on the hill beforehand.

Break out the portable grills and blow the dust off of those cornhole boards and join the fun at the Montana Tech Alumni Association's tailgate party which is scheduled to start at 4:30pm in front of the new Student Success Center which is directly across from the HPER complex.  This will be a great chance to enjoy the Spring weather and enjoy some camaraderie with other like-minded Oredigger fans before their biggest game of the season thus far.  Food and beverages will be available on site and a booth will also be set up where you can purchase Oredigger apparel and souvenirs before the big game.

The tailgate party is being sponsored by Mike Thatcher and the crew from Community, Counseling and Corrections, Inc.  Tipoff time for the Oredigger/Wayland Baptist game is set for 7pm.  Action on the hardwood will start at 5pm with Lewis Clark State taking on Hope International University in the evening's first contest.  The winners of LC State/Hope and Tech/Wayland will meet in the second round, also at the HPER, at 7pm on Saturday.
