BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech Head Coach Sean Ryan announced the signing of his 2024 recruiting class which includes four men and one woman who will be joining the Oredigger golf team this fall.

“This recruiting class will make a great impact on the great momentum of the Montana Tech Golf program on both the men’s and women’s side,” said Head Coach Sean Ryan. “It isn’t often that you can say that everyone in a recruiting class has won a state championship either as an individual or by playing a vital role to their high school team.”

Carson Hupka – Polson High School

Hupka, a three-time all-state golfer for the Pirates had a dominant high school career finishing capped off with the Pirates winning the Montana Class A State Championship this fall. Hupka placed fourth as a senior, second as a junior, and sixth as a sophomore for the Pirates at the state tournament. Hupka has a tournament low round of 66 (-6) and plays off a +3.0 handicap index.

Carson, the son of Shad and Tessa Hupka, plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.

Christian “Otto” Lund – Polson High School

Lund, was a three-time all-state golfer for the Pirates in and helped the Pirates capture the Montana Class A State Championship this fall. Lund won the Western A Divisional tournament in Whitefish. Lund was consistently at the top of the leaderboard with his fellow pirate golfers the past three seasons and played for one of the best high school programs in the state.

Christian, the son of Hans and Brooke Lund, plans to major in Petroleum Engineering.

Landon Olson – Columbus High School

Olson, a three-time all-state golfer for the Columbus Cougars finished runner-up at the Class B State Championships last spring to future teammate Colin Wade of Bigfork. Olson is a top contender for the Class B State Championships next week at Marias Valley Golf Course in Shelby. Olson’s team won the State Championship in 2021 when he was a freshman and have taken home third place and second place trophies the last two seasons. Olson finished ninth as a freshman and fifth as a sophomore at the state tournament. Olson was a multi-sport athlete playing basketball for the Cougars.

Landon, the son of Scott and Marsha Olson, plans to major in Electrical Engineering.  

Colin Wade – Bigfork High School

Wade, a four-time all-state finisher in Class B and Class A, was the was the 2023 Montana Class B State Champion as a junior. Wade was a multi-sport athlete for the Vikings, playing basketball for Butte native John Hollow. Wade placed tenth as a freshman, second as a sophomore, and first as a junior in Class B before the Vikings moved to Class A this fall and where he placed eighth at state.

Colin, the son of Curt and Marshelle Wade, plans to major in Welding Technology at Highland College.

Casha Corder – Fort Benton High School  

Corder, a three-time all-state golfer for the Longhorns won the 2022 Montana Class C State title as a sophomore. Corder placed eighth as a freshman, won the title as a sophomore, took ninth as a junior, and is a favorite to contend for the title in Hamilton next week. Corder was a multi-sport athlete for Fort Benton High School playing volleyball and basketball.  

Casha, the son of Trampus and Staci Corder, and the younger sister of Montana Tech Golf alum Nikki (Ferradas) Hardy, plans to major in Business & Information Technology.
