Oredigger Volleyball heading to Frontier Preseason Tourney starting Thursday in Dillon

The 10th ranked Montana Tech Oredigger volleyball team is gearing up for the start of conference play next week and are eager to defend their conference title.  They will get a look at their conference foes at the Frontier Conference Preseason Tournament getting underway Thursday on the campus of the University of Montana-Western in Dillon.   The following is from Digger Athletics:

The Oredigger Volleyball team is one week away from Frontier Conference regular season play. Before they jump into the regular season, they do have one tournament remaining, the Frontier Conference Preseason Tournament. The Frontier Conference Preseason Tournament will be held in Dillon on the campus of Montana Western at Straugh Gymnasium. All six Frontier Conference teams will be in attendance, and everyone will play four games spread over three days. (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) You can find the Tournament Page HERE. The Orediggers are the only team that is nationally ranked (currently No. 10) but not the only team receiving votes, the University of Providence, and Rocky Mountain College both received votes in the latest poll but not enough to crack the Top-25. Heading into the tournament, here is a look at the current Frontier Conference overall standings, with no conference games played.

Montana Western 10-0

#10 Montana Tech 7-2

(RV) Rocky Mountain 8-4

(RV) Providence 7-4

MSU-Northern 6-5

Carroll College 5-7

The Orediggers will open with Montana Western on Thursday evening at 5pm. On Friday they will battle Rocky at 11am, followed by Northern at 4pm. They will wrap up the tournament on Saturday with the Fighting Saints of Carroll at 4pm. On September 22nd the Orediggers will jump into conference play in Great Falls against the University of Providence. Their next home match will be September 29th as they host MSU Northern.
