Another conference game and another statement made by the #11 Montana Tech men's basketball team.  The Orediggers simply lambasted Carroll College Thursday night at Kelvin Sampson Court following earlier blowout conference victories over Rocky Mountain College and Montana State University-Northern last weekend.  The following is from the Montana Tech Sports Information Department:

BUTTE, Mont. – The Montana Tech men's basketball team flew out of the gate and didn't let up in a runaway victory over the Carroll College Fighting Saints 90-66.

The No. 11 Orediggers (17-4, 7-1) bolted to a 13-2 lead in the opening minutes. The Saints (12-9, 6-2) didn't score their first field goal until 14:12.

The Orediggers shot 59.5% from the field in the first half despite going 6 for 16 from beyond the arc. Tech improved in the second half finishing 11 for 27.

Tech had just four turnovers and led by as many as 23 in the game.

The Oredigger defense stopped the Saints with 5 blocked shots and 13 Carroll turnovers resulted in 17 points for the Orediggers.

Asa Williams led the Orediggers with 23 points hitting 5 for 8 from three-point range.

Caleb Bellach had 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Chrishon Dixon had a great game finishing with a season high 17 points on 6 of 8 shooting. Dixon also had 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Hayden Diekhans led the team in rebounds with 7 and chipped in 9 points.

Andrew Cook led the Saints with 20 points on 9 of 13 shooting. He finished with 7 rebounds.

Kendall Moore had 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 rebounds.

Montana Tech is in Dillon this weekend taking on the Montana Western Bulldogs Saturday.

The Orediggers will return home this Thursday, February 8th for a men's/women's doubleheader against the University of Providence.
