With Valentine's Day falling on a Friday this year, restaurants are going to be buzzing in Butte and romance will be in the air. Looking for a great place for a romantic dinner? Here are some of Southwest Montana's best choices.

Yessiree the "Big Game" is this Sunday and to say that the particular league who is in possession of the trademark of the contest in question is protective of their copyright, which they are not afraid to enforce, is a huge understatement. Since I am suggesting a few places to watch this game that I have not mentioned, this could in some ways be considered an endorsement or an advertisement. Which it isn't. But we're not taking any chances. You know what game is happening on Sunday. You know what sport they play, since I am unsure at this point if we can even say "football". Or "Sunday",for that matter. In any case, here are some suggestions on some great places in town that may or may not be showing the match in question.

Butte has always had a special relationship with the annual Cat/Griz Football Game. Geographically, we're right between the two universities and in addition to sending several players to both teams' rosters, Butte even hosted the big game from 1926 to 1951. Couldn't get tickets and are going to be watching the game here in town? Here are a few places worth checking out.

St. Patrick's Day is almost here and with it falling on a Sunday, you can bet that the revelry here in the Mining City will start well before the Sabbath. Are you looking for a place to tip back a pint or two before heading into the madness near Park and Main? Or are you going straight for the Uptown? Let me be the first to say that I am not one to doubt the math that the people at Water and Environmental Technologies are showing. After all, they are some of the smartest people in town doing work that I can barely spell correctly, less understand. So, when they say that based on 2023 data, approximately 75% of the people who donate blood at this Friday's Blood and Food Drive will get a door prize, I am inclined to believe them. And these door prizes are pretty cool, too.

After last week's convincing win over Central Washington University, Oredigger fans are chomping the bit to get their beloved team back in town and back to work this Saturday. The Orediggers will open conference play against Eastern Oregon at 1pm at Bob Green Field at Alumni Coliseum and Metals Sports Bar and Grill on the corner of Park and Main is back with their first "Kegs and Eggs" party of the young season.
