HELENA, Mont.- The Frontier Conference announces its 2024 Preseason Football Coaches Poll, which named the 2023 NAIA Semi-Finalist College of Idaho the favorite entering the 2024 season.
Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. First place was worth eight points, second place worth seven points, third place worth six points, fourth place worth five points, fifth place worth four points, sixth place worth three points, seventh place worth two points, and eighth place one point.
The Yotes were named preseason favorites for the second consecutive season, earning seven of the nine first-place votes. While they narrowly missed a conference title a season ago, College of Idaho went on a deep run in the NAIA National Championship, falling to the eventual National Champions, Keiser University, in the NAIA Semifinal in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Montana Western and Southern Oregon, who placed second and third in the poll, earned one first-place vote apiece.
Montana Tech followed in fourth, Carroll College in fifth, and Rocky Mountain College in sixth place.
Eastern Oregon, Arizona Christian, and MSU-Northern rounded out the poll.
The Frontier Conference sent three teams to the NAIA National Championship Series in 2023, tied for the most of any conference in the NAIA last season. 2023 Frontier Conference Champions Montana Western hosted the aforementioned Yotes in the Second Round, while Montana Tech hosted future Frontier Conference foe Dickinson State in the First Round.
