A Slice Of Heaven On The Banks Of The Big Blackfoot River
The KettleHouse Amphitheater is perfection.
The amphitheater sits on the banks of the Big Blackfoot River, right next to the KettleHouse Brewing Company. It is an amazing, state-of-the-art facility with a capacity listed at four thousand. IF you have attended shows at KettleHouse, my assumption is that you have a favorite ‘spot’. I have friends who are ‘lawn people’, they love to bring a blanket, grab their spot, and just chill. I also have some great friends who are ALWAYS in the pit no matter what.
I don’t fall into either of these categories. I like a seat. Yea go ahead, get it out of your system and mock me all you like, but if I am at KettleHouse I am seated, almost always in the left section, and in the first handful of rows. Yea, I’m old.
There is great food available, and as you might imagine, plenty of beverage options.
Lay on the sunscreen before you go in, bring a water bottle and a jacket, and you are set for a great night.
Last night Jason Isbell was back in the Amp with his new album ‘Weathervanes’. It was an amazing sold-out show, that marked the 9th show of the season, (6 of which were sold out) with 24 shows remaining on the season. Yes, twenty-four.
There are several upcoming shows that are sold-out (you can get on a waiting list for tickets for those shows) But, I thought I would get you ready for some shows left that have tickets available.
Let’s stick in the country/Americana vein
Old Crow Medicine Show is Tuesday, July 11th.
Trampled by Turtles will return on July 20th, they will have Amigo the Devil opening. Trampled live, are a high-energy great night, and I’m excited for Amigo, a friend got me into his music in the last year or two.
Lyle Lovett and his Large Band is on July 22nd. Lyle and his Large Band were the very first show at KettleHouse, July 13, 2017. Lyle with the full band, is something you have to see, they are amazing.
Country radio staple, Kip Moore is scheduled to play the Amp on August 4th.
Here is a look at some of the upcoming rock shows that have tickets available.
Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, they are next up on July 7th, Les Claypool is one of the most inventive and unique musicians alive. Go break out your Primus albums if you need a refresher.
Blues Traveler, with Big Head Todd and the Monsters July 13th. The fact this isn’t sold out kind of surprises me. This is one of those shows where everyone will know the lyrics.
Incubus will play the Amp on July 23rd.
Gary Clark Jr. will tear the place apart on the 26th of July. This is another show that SHOULD be sold out, Gary Clark Jr. is an insane talent, and truly one of the best guitarists alive.
The Flaming Lips will return on August 25th. The Lips put on one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. If they are playing anywhere near me, I will never miss them.
Again, those are just some of the shows left with tickets, log onto the KettleHouse website, to learn about each show, the venue, and more. The Amp is truly one of my favorite places, and I can’t wait for the next trip to Bonner.
I’ll see you in the pit…(because I’ll be sitting behind you, but I’ll see you)
