Tis' the season for a variety of amazing events, including this year's Anaconda Christmas Stroll! For decades, the stroll has been a breathtaking community gathering that commences the day after Thanksgiving. This year's stroll, hosted by Discover Anaconda, will begin with a festive lighted parade down Main Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. From there, everyone is welcome to join together at Kennedy Common (corner of 4th & Main Street) for the annual tree lighting ceremony. Then, leading to the aha moment, rumor has it that Santa will make an appearance with the help of the Anaconda-Deer Lodge Fire Department at 6 p.m. From atop one of their pristine fire trucks, children will get a chance to see Ol' St. Nick greet the community. LIVE music will then fill the air leading to the grand moment of the tree-lighting ceremony, followed by the drawing of $1,500 to one lucky winner! Anyone can participate for a chance to win by purchasing stroll buttons prior to the Christmas Stroll at several businesses in downtown Anaconda. Also, this year virtual buttons are available by visiting discoveranaconda.com. You must be present to win with "stroll button" physically or digitally displayed. A list of participating businesses is also available on Discover Anaconda's website.

Following the lighting ceremony during Anaconda's Christmas Stroll, patrons are welcome to commence at the many holiday-decorated stores downtown, where food, music, beverages, 4H booths, and caroling will be conducted by the Blue Belles under the direction of AJHS music teacher Kim Lorengo. Another highlight of the stroll is the LIVE mannequins displayed at select businesses during the event. This part of the stroll has always been a crowd-pleaser and one my children have had the opportunity to participate in. There's even more fun for family and friends this year as Elsa from Frozen, Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and the Grinch are expected to make appearances around town the night of the stroll. Plus, in keeping with tradition, the kiddos can meet up to take photos with Santa at the Discover Anaconda Visitors Center (306 East Park).

Following Anaconda's Christmas Stroll, many more holiday events are expected to happen in the community. Looking forward to keeping you informed on our Townsquare Media Sites; plus, make sure to click Here for even more details. Happy strolling!
