A weekend full of fun events for all is coming up in Anaconda this Friday through Sunday as Smeltermen's Day Weekend is taking place featuring everything from music and art to a brew fest and even a half-marathon and bus tours to the historic (and otherwise inaccessible) smoke stack.  Here is all you need to know about this great weekend in the Smelter City.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 9TH - Enjoy an art walk in downtown Anaconda from 5 to 8PM with several businesses taking part as well as three incredible musical acts entertaining the crowds, also from 5 to 8pm.  Logan Dudding will be playing at Durston Park; Copper & Sage will perform at the Anaconda Visitors Center and Ian Thomas will be at the Copper Village Museum & Art Center.  Later, from 6:30 to 9PM the artists' reception will take place at the Visitors' Center.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10TH - The Smelter City Scamper will be taking place with a half- marathon, a 10k, a 5k and a Family Fun Run.  The race series will begin with the half marathon starting at 7:30am, the 10k at 8am, the 5k at 8:30 and the fun run at 10:30AM.  All races will start and finish at Kennedy Commons with an awards ceremony to follow.

From 11am to 3pm enjoy an Oral History Project at The Montana.  Also, from 11am to 3pm "The Ghosts of Smeltermen's Day Past" photo exhibit will be on display at Kennedy Commons.

Kennedy Commons will also be the site of the brew fest from noon to 4pm with music by Mudslide Charlie and games for the family along with food trucks and vendors.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 11TH - The Smeltermen's Day Parade will get things going at theto Courthouse with decorations for floats and bikes available at the Courthouse Lawn at 11am and the parade lineup at the Courthouse at 12:30pm and the official start at 1pm.

At 1:30 there will be a film and presentation at the Washoe Theater by Jack Losensky, "The Fascinating History of Flume Logging That Fueled the Smelter".

The After Party will take place at Kennedy Commons from 1 to 4pm with music by Bryant McGregory and Super Bee along with food trucks and vendors.
