Butte High Prom 2023 a success
The Front Street Station was the setting for Butte High’s 2023 Prom and what an evening it was. Although a formal dance in nature, many of the evening’s revelers were a bit dressed down. It didn’t matter. For a group of freshmen girls, Koda, Isabelle, Danika, Brynn and Lydia it was their first Prom and their excitement was ever apparent. How long have they been waiting for their first Prom? “Forvever” was one answer. “Since I was little,” was another enthusiastic response. (Please forgive me for misspellings or errors with the names. Did I mention it was loud in there?)
As is the case with most dances, it took a few numbers for the dance floor to fill as the two-level event center provided room away from the dance floor for the young guests to mingle. Bright neon lighting set the tone for a night primarily made up of hip hop music. Katy Perry, Jay Z, LMFAO and The Weeknd filled the air with bass-driven dance tunes broken up by the occasional country tune from the likes of Big & Rich and Morgan Wallen.
The young crowd was remarkably well-behaved and kept the large dance floor filled throughout most of the evening, chanting along with some of their favorite songs and cheering when one of their favorites came on.
Prom Royalty consisted of Evan Andrews and Camille Kautzman; Blake Facincani and Teya Edwards; James Hadley and Lauren Powers; Tristyn King and Makenna Bazo; Cave Petersen and Chaeli Scown along with Jonas Sherman and Jae Grant. Evan Andrews was crowned Prom King while Camille Kautzman won the honor of Prom Queen 2023.
