Bulldogs sweep Flathead Braves in Tuesday basketball doubleheader
The Butte High boys and girls both jumped out to big first quarter leads and both were able to weather the storm in sweeping the Flathead Braves Tuesday evening at the Butte Civic Center with the boys winning 63-54 and the girls holding on for a 57-51 victory.
BOYS - BUTTE 63, FLATHEAD 54
The Butte boys started fast and furious scoring the game's first 15 points before Flathead would get on the board. Included in the flurry were a couple of long balls from Tocher Lee who, along with Hudson Luedtke would lead the Bulldogs in scoring with 13 apiece when all was said and done. The Bulldogs would end the 3rd quarter up by 18 but a rally by the Braves in the 4th quarter would be too little, too late. The Bulldogs got 9 apiece from Ruesso Batterman and Braylon Larson, Dylan Bache would toss in 7, Bo Demarais had 6, Torre Tempel would finish with 4 and Spencer Callaghan would add 2.
GIRLS - BUTTE 57, FLATHEAD 51
After spotting the Bravettes a 5-1 lead, the Bulldogs would reel off 12 straight points behind two treys from freshman guard Cadence Graham. Graham was unconscious tonight finishing with a game-high 25 points on the evening including a bomb and a pair of free-throws to seal the victory in the game's final minute. 18 of Graham's 25 came from behind the arc. Brityn Stewart would join Graham in double-digits with 11 points on the evening while Taylor Drakos, Ashlinn Mullaney and Emma Johnson would all finish with 5. Dylann Bartoletti and Catherine Sholey would add 3 apiece for Butte High.
The Bulldogs will host another varsity doubleheader Thursday at the Butte Civic Center with the girls game at 5:30pm and the boys scheduled for a 7pm tipoff.
