Winter sports season is back and we kick it into high gear this weekend as both Butte High School and Butte Central have posted their weekly activities schedules.

On the basketball side of things, Butte High and Butte Central will both start the season on the road, or in Butte Central's case, continue their road trip.  Butte Central's boys and girls opened their seasons last weekend in East Helena. The Maroons boys and girls will be taking place in the Western A Tipoff Tournament in Frenchtown with games being played Friday and Saturday.  The BC girls will take on Fergus at 4:30pm Friday at the Frenchtown High School with the boys to follow at 7:30pm at Frenchtown Middle School, also against the Fergus Golden Eagles.  Saturday will see the boys playing Browning at 10:30am at the high school and the girls facing Browning at 1:30pm at the Middle School.  The Butte High Bulldogs will be on the road with games Friday in Bozeman against the Bozeman Hawks.  The girls JVs play at 2:30, sophs at 4pm, the varsity contest at 5:30pm and the freshmen play at 7.  On the boys side, the sophomores play at 2:30, the JVs at 4pm, the frosh at 5:30 and the varsities at 7pm.

Now let's talk wrestling.  The Butte High Bulldogs boys team.will be competing in Whitehall on both Friday and Saturday while also hosting the Mining City Duals here in Butte.  Butte Central's team will be competing both days in Whitehall.  Butte High Girls Wrestling will be competing at the Flathead Invitational both Friday and Saturday.

Speech & Debate?  Butte Central's team will be in action Friday and Saturday at the Belgrade Invitational and the Butte High Swimming Team will be at the Helena Invitational.
