Corned Beef and Cabbage.  It's just not St. Patrick's Day in Butte without a heaping helping of this hearty Irish delicacy.  Traditionally served with carrots and boiled potatoes, there are several establishments that will be serving the dish this year and here are a few that we think stand out.

In the old days you would muscle your way to the bar for a shot and a beer and try to get over to the cafe side for corned beef and cabbage before they ran out.  Well, things have changed a bit since the fire that took down the original M&M a few years ago but one thing that is a constant is that the M&M, even in her new location, still has some of the best corned beef and cabbage in town.

THE ELKS LODGE, 206 W. GALENA

Well, the Elks will again be a hotbed on St. Patrick's Day with lunch, including corned beef and cabbage with all the fixins', being served at noon and available while supplies last.  Doors open at 11am.

THE KC HALL, 224 W. PARK ST.

The Knights of Columbus Hall in Butte will be open at 11am on St. Patrick's Day and in addition to Corned Beef and Cabbage they will be serving other Butte Irish favorites like kielbasa dogs and pasties.  C'mon, there's never a bad time or holiday for a pasty.

COPPER CITY CASINO AND RESTAURANT, 1285 HARRISON

On Harrison just across from the Civic Center you will find the Copper City Casino and Restaurant.  The portions are big and tasty, the prices are reasonable and they will be serving Corned Beef and Cabbage on St. Patrick's Day while it lasts.
