Grand Marshal Nominees needed for Butte’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade
We may be shoveling snow right now, but spring is right around the corner and that means St. Patrick's Day is not far away. In Butte, that's a pretty big deal. Our friends at the Butte America Foundation are getting things planned right now and they are looking for a Grand Marshal for this year's parade. Here is their release:
For more than a century, St. Patrick's Day has been one of Butte's high holidays. At the heart of the annual celebration is the much anticipated St. Pat's Day Parade. Sons and daughters of the Emerald Isle as well as friends of the Irish from near and far, line the streets of Uptown Butte, cheering on the green-tinged floats, bands, marchers and natty bagpipers.
Butte's 2025 St. Patrick's Day Parade will begin at noon on Monday, March 17th, at the corner of Granite and Wyoming, traveling west to Montana, south to Park and then east back to Main.
Each year a Grand Marshal is chosen from among nominations submitted by local citizens. A link to this year's nomination form can be found at https://butteamericafoundation.org. Submission deadline is March 1, 2025.
Butte America Foundation (BAmF) is honored to be the steward of two of Butte's iconic parades - 4th of July and St. Patrick's Day. We are able to continue this work thanks to volunteers who carry buckets and help in a variety of other ways. If you would like to be a part of the team please email bamf@butteamericafoundation.org.
