Orediggers to host conference twin-bill Saturday afternoon
Anyone looking to get out of the cold Saturday afternoon can warm up with a couple of red-hot Oredigger basketball teams as both the Montana Tech women and men will host the University of Providence out of Great Falls at Kelvin Sampson Court. In addition to the warmth, Saturday is a great opportunity to bring the family to the HPER if you haven't caught the Orediggers in action this season.
Tech Women vs. Providence, 2pm
The Oredigger women are coming off a 72-68 setback Thursday in Dillon but are playing exceptional basketball under third year coach Jeff Graham. The Orediggers received votes in the last NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll and are becoming known for their ferocious defensive style and a group of exciting young players. The Orediggers are 11-6 overall with a 2-2 mark in Frontier Conference games and are looking to bounce back after a 4-point road loss to Montana-Western Thursday evening in Dillon. The UP Argos are 11-5 overall with a 1-3 conference record.
Tech Men vs. Providence, 4pm
After dropping their conference opener on the road to a hot Rocky Mountain College team, the Montana Tech men are riding a 3-game winning streak after dismantling Montana-Western 69-47 on Thursday evening in Straugh Gymnasium. The Oredigger men are 16-2 overall with a 3-1 mark in Frontier Conference games and currently hold down the #11 spot in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Providence men are 9-8 overall with a 3-1 mark in the Frontier Conference and are coming off a 20-point win over MSU-Northern on Thursday evening.
Tickets for both games are available at the door.
