From Colt Anderson's "Dream Big" extravaganza last month to the Montana Folk Festival's successful run in early July, one summer event is coming to Butte that makes a different kind of roar.  The roars of Monster Trucks and all of the car-crushing revelry that comes with them will be on full display this Friday and Saturday at the Butte Vigilante Rodeo Grounds as the Monster Truck Nitro Tour comes to town.

Three shows are scheduled for this weekend.  The first will be Friday, July 22 at 7:30pm followed by a matinee Saturday afternoon at 1:30.  The finale is set for Saturday night at 7:30.  All shows according to promoters will showcase "incredible 10,000-pound car-crushing giants compete(ing) in racing, wheelie contests and then...amazing freestyle action," adding that you can "meet the drivers and see the trucks up close at the pre-event Autograph Pit Party."  Pit parties will start 90 minutes prior to the events and will even give thrill-seekers the opportunity to purchase tickets to ride in one of these behemoths.  Also as part of the performances, Butte audiences will be treated to a "jet car meltdown" and a performance by Keith Sayers Freestyle Motocross, always a local favorite.  The matinee show on Saturday has also been designated as "kids day" and all kids will get a free tour toy while they last.  Tickets for all events are available at www.monstertrucknitrotour.com
