Southwest Native Community Pow Wow Friday and Saturday at Butte Civic Center
The Southwest Native Community Pow Wow is set for this Friday and Saturday at the Butte Civic Center, 1340 Harrison Avenue, and will feature a variety of events, from a 1k/5k run/walk for suicide prevention and mental health to a variety of drumming, dancing and much more.
The mission of the Southwest Native Community is to support the Native community and surrounding areas by educating and empowering our youth and adults on topics such as culture, traditions, history, language, arts and other important personal and social gatherings and events. Their hope is to strengthen families and our community by creating a positive environment in which the people will feel encouraged with the belief that creativity and connections will bring together a better way of teaching our children for the future.
The Pow Wow is drug and alcohol free event and there is no admission charge. This year's Master of Ceremonies is Jack Barton, the Arena Director is Dan Falcon and Host Drum is Bad Agency. Here is the schedule of events.
