I am at present time the proud pet parent of a 90-pound rottweiler so I am familiar with how much dogs can eat.  I am also the proud pet parent of a 20-plus pound kitty cat who, while he hates outfits, loves to eat as well but that is a story for another time.

Anyone with pets can tell you that they go through a lot of food, toys, treats and kitty litter.  While all animals deserve a life of endless treats, belly rubs and naps in a beam of sunshine, that is not the case at all.  Which is why it warms the heart when a group of caring individuals band together for the benefit of some of our furry friends who are awaiting adoption at the Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter here in Butte.

The employees at NorthWestern Energy have pooled their money together and made a sizable donation of dog and cat food to the Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter here in Butte.  Believe me, these dogs and cats go through a lot of food.  It's the employees, mind you, who made the collective donation out of their own pockets, which makes the gift even more special.  This is not the first time they have done this, and organizers promise that this will not be the last either.

The Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter does so many things in our community from animal rescue and control to lost pets, licenses and, of course, pet adoption.  Since we're getting personal, I would like to personally thank the shelter for setting my family up with Snickers who was the best dog in the world for 14 years.  Especially after reading motivational literature.
