Orediggers host MSU-Northern hoops Thursday Night at Kelvin Sampson Court
Montana Tech basketball returns home tonight and what has rarely been the case recently, both the men's and women's teams are looking to rebound after a sweep last weekend at the hands of the University of Providence. The women suffered their fourth loss in a row, 65-53 while the men had a six-game winning streak snapped, 70-59.
The road will not get any easier tonight as the MSU-Northern programs come to town. The Skylights are responsible for one of the Tech women's recent losses, a 52-51 heartbreaker a few weeks ago in Havre. The Skylights are 8-10 overall and 2-2 in Frontier Conference play. On the men's side, the Lights are led by longtime Head Coach and former Oredigger guard Shawn Huse, whose history with Montana Tech always seems inspire his squad in this gym. The Lights are 9-9 overall with a 1-3 mark in the Frontier Conference play. The Orediggers squeaked past Northern 62-60 earlier this season in Havre.
The Tech women come into play with a 10-8 overall mark, 1-3 in the Frontier with their lone conference win, a thriller, 51-50 triumph over #12 Rocky Mountain College in their conference opener at Kelvin Sampson Court back on January 6. The Oredigger men are 14-4 overall with a 3-1 mark in the Frontier Conference.
The women's game tips off at 5pm with the men to follow at 7pm. Tonight has been designated as "Let's Talk About It" Night with Logan Healthcare and Billings Clinic. Tickets will be available at the gate, doors open at 4pm.
