Butte Central standout guard Owen McPartland will continue his post-secondary basketball career at Miles City Community College the school announced on Tuesday afternoon.  The following is from a release provided by Butte Central High School:

Earlier today Butte Central Catholic High School senior Owen McPartland signed a letter of intent to join the Miles City Community College Pioneers Basketball Program. McPartland finished his three-year varsity career as an outstanding player for the Maroons. In 2023 he was named Southwest "A" All-Conference. In 2024 he was named first team All-Conference and Class "All-State. In 2025 he was again named to the Southwest "A" All- Conference.

In addition to his success on the basketball court McPartland is an outstanding student. He was named to the MCA All-Academic Team for three years. He has been on the Honor Roll at Butte Central for four years and was inducted to the National Honor Society in 2024.

"We are very proud of Owen and his outstanding career in the classroom and on the court for the Maroons," said Butte Central President/Superintendent Don Peoples Jr. He is an outstanding product of Coach Kelly's program, and we look forward to following his career at Miles City," said Peoples.

McPartland had a spectacular senior season, finishing fourth in Class A in scoring with a 19.8 points-per-game average, second in free throw percentage at 85.2% on the year and tenth in assists dishing out 3.5 per game.  In McPartland's final game as a Maroon he put up an amazing 39 points against the Bigfork Vikings in the Western A Divisional Tournament.
