Butte Emergency Food Bank

Tim Montana will make his much-anticipated musical return to the Mining City this Friday night and in true Tim Montana fashion, he is doing his part to give back to his town and his neighbors. Tim has teamed up with the Butte Arts Foundation and Mother Lode Theater along with Town Pump Food Stores of Montana to raise food, funds and awareness for Butte's Emergency Food Bank and Butte Rescue Mission.

You really don't need to look too far in Butte to see that there are many among us who are living paycheck to paycheck. Some of those do not even have a paycheck. Their lives are meal to meal. For some, their conditions are not as dire, yet they are still in need of assistance and that assistance is provided here in Butte by the Butte Emergency Food Bank. What the Food Bank does here in Butte, for so many, is such an important service for those in need. This Saturday, our local Postal Carriers are going to give you a chance to help the Food Bank through the Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

The popular and unique "Empty Bowls" fundraiser is set for April 3 at the Butte Civic Center and a new bowl will be featured this year.

Each second Saturday in May, letter carriers across the country gather food, personal care items and monetary donations to benefit local food banks. Their incredible efforts over the years have led to the donations of over a billion pounds of food. Here in the Mining City the food and funds collected through the work of our letter carriers will be dropped off at the Butte Emergency Food Bank at 1019 E. Second Street. That is where your help is needed.
