Butte might be the most interesting town of all of Montana. People who live there love it and other Montanans respect it. It's got a rich mining history that absolutely changed the world, and although a little rough around the edges - Butte is still loved by those who call it home.

It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming back the food vendors, the foam machine, the big stage with Andy Larson and, of course, the big crowds that have been commonplace at Music on Main events every Thursday throughout the summer. And here we are at the final event. But what an event it is going to be. As in years past, Missoula's hot country band ShoDown will be the musical guest and these guys are the closers for a reason. They are one of the top bands in the Northwest and have become a favorite of many here in Butte.

The Montana Tech Orediggers will host the Bears of Rocky Mountain College in their Frontier opener Thursday Night.

Montana Tech will travel to Billings to take on the Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain college in a pivotal conference game. This will be the 135th meeting between the two programs.

Saturday is a big day for Oredigger Athletics

It is a big weekend, and a huge game in Caldwell this Saturday for the Orediggers, as they make their way to Idaho to take on the Yotes. Both teams come into the game ranked nationally, the Yotes currently sit in the #9 spot, the Diggs come in as the #19 team in the nation.

Music enthusiasts, there are many reasons to rock out! The upcoming event, "Rock the Pit", is by far one of the most important reasons to do just that! As provided by All Events and The Butte Elks Lodge, "Rock the Pit", October 8th at the Butte Elks Lodge, is a benefit dedicated to the memory of Perry Schelin, a local resident and musician who passed away in January after succumbing to brain cancer.
