Cruise Nite

Man, summer sure went by awfully fast, didn't it? Just like that, we are done with another fun Cruise Nite season as things came to a close last night at Butte's locally owned and operated Ace Hardware on Harrison Avenue and the night, and the season for that matter, was fun for all involved.

It's hard to believe that we're at the end of summer but here we are, gearing up for our final KMBR Cruise Nite of 2024. This year we are going to send the season off with a bang as we head to Butte's locally owned and operated Ace Hardware for our final event of the summer.

Threatening storm clouds loomed in the near distance throughout the afternoon and early evening here in the Mining City on Thursday but it was not enough to deter a huge crowd from showing up to Rocky Mountain Car Wash on Harrison Avenue for KMBR's second Cruise Nite of the summer. In the end, everyone stayed dry and had a great evening of classic cars and classic rock.

After braving the heat a couple of weeks ago at Redline Sports, KMBR's second Cruise Nite of the season looks like it's going to be another hot one as things move down the street to Rocky Mountain Car Wash at 3410 Harrison Avenue for Cruise Nite #2 this Wednesday evening.

Well, if we wanted to wait until one of the hottest days of the summer for our first Cruise Nite of the summer on KMBR, we certainly accomplished our mission. Even with the mercury at 90 degrees as we began our broadcast, it certainly did not deter a large and enthusiastic crowd from gathering at Redline Sports on Harrison Avenue and many of them brought out some impressive classic cars, trucks and motorcycles for the first of several Cruise Nites we'll be hosting throughout the rest of the summer.

We may be off to a bit of a later start than usual this summer but this Wednesday evening, Cruise Nite returns to the streets of Butte, and we are holding our first event at Redline Sports at 1839 Harrison Avenue.

Wednesday evening the parking lot of Keikers Kustoms was full. And so was many of their nearby neighbors as the final Cruise Nite of the 2023 season was held and Mining City motorheads were out in full force.

Can you believe we're down to the final Cruise Night of the summer? Well, here we are at the final Wednesday, and we are ready to bring the season out with a bang as we head to Keikers Kustoms at 107 Sportsman's Way behind Walmart with the crew from East Ridge Powder Coating. Registration for the "People's Choice Award" will begin at 6pm and again tonight we'll be honoring the top two-wheeled and top four-wheeled vote-getters.

So far this summer's Cruise Nites have seen a little bit of everything. A dragster took home top honors at our first event back in June and our last event saw a late model Corvette speed off with the Peoples' Choice Award for cars and trucks. Competition on the motorcycle side hasn't been too shabby either and we are expecting plenty of both for our 4th Cruise Nite of the summer which gets underway tonight at 6pm at Redline Sports on Harrison Avenue.

Frank Finnegan's beautiful 2009 Corvette Convertible took home the People's Choice Award for best car or truck and Danny Mac's 1967 Yamaha won top motorcycle at Cruise Nite #3 held last night at the Drunk'n Miner Saloon and Copper Spirits Casino at 1800 Meadowlark here in Butte.
