Final Cruise Nite of the summer a big success
Wednesday evening the parking lot of Keikers Kustoms was full. And so was many of their nearby neighbors as the final Cruise Nite of the 2023 season was held and Mining City motorheads were out in full force.
And what a spread. In addition to the rows of cars were our friends from Papa Tom's Kettle Corn and the crew from Keiker's Kustoms even brought out a bounce house for the kids.
On hand and competing for the Peoples' Choice Award were a couple of earlier winners from past Cruise Nites including the incredible hand-painted Butte mural truck that took home the award a few weeks back at Rocky Mountain Car Wash and a crowd favorite, the Barbie-vette, which was the winner at Ace Hardware earlier this summer. How would they fare at the last one of the year?
As would be expected, the voting was very tight. In fact, it was the closest finish we've had in at least 5 years. A single vote separated the top 3 vehicles and after a couple of recounts by our staff it was confirmed that Mike Pollard's incredible Toyota Tacoma was the evening's winner. Mike was thrilling the kids (and adults) when he demonstrated the truck's incredible hydraulic lifts with an impromptu hopping display. Here's what it takes to power them.
It was a memorable night and a fantastic season. A big thank you to everyone who joined us.
