The Montana Folk Festival has grown into one of the biggest and most successful events of the summer in Montana because of the incredible array of world music and culture that it brings to the Mining City. And this year for three performances, organizers needed to look no further than our own backyard to fill some important spots on the performance schedule. Say hello once again to the popular duo The Berkeley Pits, veteran singer/songwriter Chad Okrusch and welcome the relatively new but very talented band Juniper Creek to this year's lineup.

Jeremy Scared was the kind of band that you will remember decades later. They looked different from other Butte bands. They played different. You could tell from the first note that the band members are incredibly talented individually, but the way they played as a unit is what set them apart. Yes, they were really good but they worked hard at getting really good. Their covers were more intricate and their originals? Untouchable. And now, decades later, they will be together again, at least for one night, at the Butte Rock Fest which will invade the Butte Depot outdoor amphitheater on the evening of Saturday, July 1.
