As this winter illustrates, the need is long overdue. And the benefit to every Grizzly student-athlete, and others, may finally be recognized soon.

The annual Montana Grizzly football spring game is coming up on Friday, April 7, but fans will find a new wrinkle as they celebrate the return of Griz football.

Even though most of Montana is braving what is hoped to be the last storm of the winter, Track and Field Season is off and running, at least on the collegiate level. Dornblaser Field in Missoula was the site of the Al Manuel Invitational and the Montana Tech Orediggers were represented quite nicely.

Jon Pardi will perform Friday, November 3 at the Adams Event Center on the campus of the University of Montana with a 7pm scheduled start time. Tickets for the concert will officially go on sale this Friday at griztix.com at 10am

You'd have to be living under a big rock in Montana NOT to know the Brawl of the Wild is this Saturday in Bozeman! The thing about it, though, is that some Bocat/Griz Fans are more prepared and organized than others. Hence, the ones ahead of the game purchased their tickets weeks ago for the game, had their tailgate festivities planned out, and booked hotel reservations way in advance. Serious gamegoers even know exactly what "team logo" layers of clothing they plan to wear to match weather conditions. Then there are the "winging it" Bobcat/Griz fans. The ones that procrastinate purchasing tickets for whatever reason and then end up with NONE. Yet, because they love a good Bobcat/Griz football matchup and want to be part of the festivities, they make every attempt to be there in the flesh even though it would have been easier to maintain some level of organization by purchasing tickets and a hotel room in the first place. Or so I've been told. Lol!

The University of Montana will meet Montana State University for the 121st time Saturday. Butte has hosted 21 of those games.

ESPN's College GameDay is coming to Bozeman this weekend and Butte's Bob Green should be on the panel.

Fans of the Hollywood scene, featured this time around on Montana's Link to La La Land is Carroll O'Connor who is best known for his roles as Archie Bunker on the sitcom All In the Family and the television version of The Heat of the Night as Chief William "Bill" Gillespie. O'Connor wasn't born or raised in Montana, but as illustrated in the online version of the New York Times, after a bout as a merchant marine, he made his way to the Treasure State in the late 1940's as a college student in Missoula
