Adam Para benefit Saturday at the Butte Depot with cornhole, auctions and more
It's hard to hear about Adam Para's story and not feel compassion. After all, Adam is a really nice guy. A lot of you may know him from his job at Northwest Pawn on Front Street and previous job at Autozone where he worked for a decade and later at Good Vibrations. Chances are Adam helped you if you were a customer, most likely with a big smile. And Adam is asking for your help.
Adam, to put it shortly, is in need of a kidney transplant. For years, he has been undergoing dialysis as a part of his regular routine. A routine that he must stick to religiously as he lost all kidney function 13 long years ago. Adam is up for a transplant that will take place at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City which is great news. But the setback is that in addition to the enormous cost of the surgery, he and a caregiver must remain in Salt Lake for an additional 4 to 6 weeks after the surgery.
You can help Adam out by attending a benefit at the Butte Depot, 818 S. Arizona, Saturday, May 18 starting at 3pm. Unless you're a cornhole player, then you will want to show up at 11am for a blind-draw tournament, all experience levels are welcome. At the benefit itself, you will find a live auction taking place with cornhole boards, a Blackstone barbecue and more. There will be a Dutch Auction and a Silent Auction as well plus a DJ, a taco bar and refreshments.
