You don't survive for more than 2 decades as an annual entertainment event in Montana unless you're doing a lot of things right and giving people a good experience.  Especially if you're a music festival.  Well, since 2001, Rockin' the Rivers has done that and more and has become one of the premiere music festivals in the Northwest. How? By bringing in great bands to a gorgeous natural environment and mixing that with accessible camping, an array of different food and merchandise vendors and thousands of rock fans ready to get down for 3 days in the Montana summer.  It's a recipe for fun and organizers are gearing up for a big show this August 8th, 9th and 10th.

We talked with the main man behind Rockin' the Rivers, Bryan Hovda, and we asked what makes him excited about this year's festival. "The lineup, for sure", he told us. "I'm just excited about some great music.  We've paired together some old nostalgic favorites and some new up and coming people."  And he couldn't be more right.  Headlining performers this year will include such "classic" acts as Stone Temple Pilots, The Wallflowers, Smashmouth, Hinder and Hoobastank as well as rising stars such as Blacktop Mojo, Smile Empty Soul, Cody Parks and the Dirty South, Liliac and Butte's own Tim Montana whose "Devil You Know" single has put him right in the mix of today's top new rock artists.

Tickets to this year's show are available at rockintherivers.com and Hovda told us that there are various packages and bundles to peruse on the website.  New this year are single night car and van camping options for people who just want to attend for one night and those will be available on April 20th.
