Having to go without some of the higher-end products or brand-name shoes is something that many of us face as a part of life.  Unfortunately for many of Butte's younger citizens, back-to-school is not a time filled with joy and anticipation of the new school year and activities.  Instead, it is filled with anxiety and dread because not only will they not be sporting new Air Jordans, but they may not have any new clothes or supplies at all.  Not school supplies.  Not even personal supplies.  Here in Butte, that is just not right and something is being done about it.

Bulldog Outfitters is here for those students who are, in fact, going without this school year.  Are you in need of clothing?  Bulldog Outfitters is here to help.  Do you need personal hygiene supplies?  Remember Bulldog Outfitters.  And it's not just for the high school students, Bulldog Outfitters is here to help all students in need from those in kindergarten through those entering their senior year.  They operate very discreetly with their young clients and this incredible project is made possible through very generous donations from all over the community as well as incredible efforts from our very caring educators and administrators.

Bulldog Outfitters is located in the Butte Plaza Mall next to the theaters and they have announced their hours of operation for the upcoming school year.  They will be open this Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm throughout the school year.

Due to overwhelming local support, they are not accepting donations at this time but pass along this message:  THANK YOU BUTTE!

20 Ways To Tell If This Winter Will Be a Harsh One

In the days before modern weather forecasting, people used any possible bit of information to get a glimpse into the future. Old tales and folklore get handed down for generations as people do whatever they can to survive another winter.

In the 70s, meteorologist Dick Goddard put together a list of common weather folklore for Farmers’ Almanac that some say can predict what nature has in store for the darkest months of the year.

So, take note, do you see any of these signs that winter has it out for us?
