The following information was provided by Natalie Stout, Public Involvement Specialist with the Montana Department of Transportation.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal to upgrade and install signage at various locations throughout the MDT's Butte district.  Work will occur in and around Anaconda, Belgrade, Bozeman, Butte, Deer Lodge, Dillon East Helena, Ennis, Four Corners and Helena.

Proposed work includes intersection signage such as stop, stop ahead and intersection warning signs, as well as curve warning signage, radar-activated flashers, delineation, delineation lighting and retroreflective backplates on signal head. The purpose of this project is enhancing roadway safety features and addressing crash trends observed at intersections and curves throughout the district.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2029.depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.

Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project.
