A peaceful protest and food drive has been scheduled for this Saturday, October 19th at the Butte Plaza Mall on Harrison Avenue.  The activity will be taking place on the Butte Plaza Mall's main sidewalk on Harrison Avenue near the mall's main entrance.  The following is taken from a mailer that was sent to local officials by the local group, Indivisible Butte.  For additional details or information, please contact Connie Thomson  at conniejthomson@gmail.com.

Join Indivisible Butte on October 18th to voice your support for the United States Constitution! When the United States Constitution was ratified more than 220 years ago, our infant nation announced its commitment to the core values of liberty and equality. These values are so integral to our national identity, our elected officials swear an oath to uphold and defend this Constitution. With the dangers of tyranny fresh in their minds, the authors of the Constitution cemented a separation of powers among three branches of government. A system of checks and balances was designed to guarantee that the power of government remained in the hands of the people.

Current executive actions ignore the constitutional separation of powers. We, the People, have a responsibility to demand that this administration comply with the oaths they took upon election.

Almost 250 years ago, we declared there would be No Kings in America. Once again, we unite to practice free speech in peaceful defense of the core values enshrined in our Constitution.
