“Local Superheroes” workshops in May offer hospitality tips
As the Mining City gears up for another busy summer season, local leaders are emphasizing the importance of hospitality. Again this year, tens of thousands of visitors are expected for signature summer events like the Montana Folk Festival, the Ani Ri Ra Irish Festival and others.
To help area businesses and frontline staff make the most of that tourism surge, the Butte Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Butte Local Development Corporation is hosting a workshop, "Local Superheroes Workshop: Smart Strategies" which is aimed at strengthening customer service and community engagement.
The workshop is designed for anyone who regularly interacts with visitors, from restaurant and hotel workers and staff to retailers and their employees--anyone who can help shape a tourist's experience. Organizers say the goal is simple: provide practical tools to encourage visitors to stay longer, explore more and contribute to the local economy.
The workshop will focus on turning everyday interactions into positive, memorable experiences that reflect Butte's welcoming character--interactions that will keep people in Butte longer to shop, dine and explore.
Two sessions are scheduled to accommodate different work schedules. The first takes place May 6th from 8am to 9am at the Finlen Hotel on East Broadway Street. A second session will be held May 13th from 5pm to 6pm at the Garner Hotel on Dewey Boulevard.
With festival season approaching, organizers say investing in hospitality now can pay dividends all summer long, helping ensure visitors leave Butte with plans to return. Registration is available through the Butte Chamber's website.
