Tickets available now for World Museum of Mining’s Underground Music Series
Butte has always had an underground music scene but this may be a little too literal.
Butte's World Museum of Mining has announced the lineup for the 2026 Underground Music Series and while the lineup consists of musicians that, I guess, could be considered underground, the venue definitely is. The venue in question is the actual 100-foot level of the Orphan Girl Mine, whose headframe sits on the present grounds of the museum. The stage will be just a few feet from the cages that once lowered and raised miners and ore from the Orphan Girl shaft and the depths of the Butte Hill.
Here's a look at the area where the shows will take place, almost a quarter mile from the present above-ground entrance.
Here are some other photos from the mine.
The series begins in early June and is truly unlike any other, blending local artistry with Butte's one-of-a-kind mining heritage. Here is a look at the dates and performers for this year.
- June 2 - Me and Thee
- June 16 - Chad Okrusch
- June 30 - Lindzi Neilson
- July 14 - High Ore Road
- July 28 - Slovie's Love
- August 11 - Tom Susanj
- August 25 - John Montoya
- September 8 - Edwin Johnson and Marlene Holland Murdo
- September 22 - Amanda & Kevin Curtis
Tickets to individual shows are on sale now but, as you can see from the photo, seating will be extremely limited. Special pricing is also available for those interested in purchasing a season pass. Interested? Click here for tickets and details. If you can't make the concert series but still want to check out the Orphan Girl, stop by the World Museum of Mining this spring and take one of the incredible underground mine tours.
