The following is a release from Montana Tech's Sports Information Department:
AUSTIN, Texas -- A quartet of Montana Tech women's basketball players laid claim to Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday morning.
Seniors Macy Mayer and Aubrie Rademacher and juniors Hadley Humphreys and Liv Wangerin garnered the awards. Student-athletes must hold a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, sophomore or better standing, and be a starter or significant contributor to their team. Academic All-District award recipients are then selected for eligibility for Academic All-America honors by a CSC committee.
Humphreys, a forward from Blackfoot, Idaho, transferred to Montana Tech from Utah State Eastern prior to this season and made an immediate impact both on and off the court. The nursing major boasts a 3.88 GPA and led the Orediggers in scoring, rebounding, steals, and minutes played. Her 13.4 points per game ranked seventh in the Frontier Conference, earning her first-team all-conference honors. Humphreys is also heavily involved in the community, specifically with the Butte Young Single Adult activities with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Mayer, a forward from Bozeman, earned Frontier Conference all-defensive team honors as the cornerstone of the Oredigger D. She ranked in Tech's top five in rebounding, assists, steals, blocked shots, and minutes to go with an average of 4.4 points per game. Mayer holds a 3.76 GPA in the nursing program.
Rademacher, a forward from Kalispell, holds a 3.7 GPA in biological sciences. The senior led Montana Tech and ranked third in the Frontier Conference in free-throw percentage at 83.5 percent on her way to a second-straight honorable mention on the all-conference team. She finished her career ranked in Tech's all-time top 10 in free-throw percentage, free throws made, and rebounds.
Wangerin, a forward from Plentywood, logged career-highs in scoring, 3-pointers, assists, and steals on her way to honorable mention All-Frontier accolades for a second-straight season. The junior ranked eighth in the league with 69 assists. An exercise and health science major boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Montana Tech enjoyed a return to success on the basketball court in 2024-25, posting an 18-12 record and earning the program's first NAIA national tournament berth since 2011. The Diggers received votes in the final top 25 poll of the season.
