Full Tuition Scholarships for Butte Vets, servicemembers and families available through NFAMI/Operation Next Step
Are you a veteran who is looking for a career or currently a member of our armed forces who is wondering what you'll do after your military commitment?
The Next Frontier Advanced Manufacturing Institute (NFAMI) is partnering with Accelerate MT, UAT and the Highlands College here in Butte to bring the Operation Next Step program to Montana. The Welding and Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) operator rapid workforce development program is offering full-tuition scholarships in our goal to provide opportunities to Montana Veterans, future veterans and family members for life after service. The next semester starts in January and is open to veterans, National Guard and Reserve members as well as active duty transitioning service members, spouses, children (17-25), nieces, nephews and siblings.
The curriculum is online, for the most part. Curriculum is provided tuition-free to students by NFAMI and Accelerate MT. There are also hands-on training and certification weekends. This overall approach is to make it possible for those working, serving, and or going to school to still be able to attend. It is simple and easy to secure your scholarship, just call Ben Kohler at (406)565-0190. For disadvantaged folks who would require a hotel room but cannot afford one, please give them the chance to look for a sponsor on your behalf and note that all circumstances will be kept confidential. Credentials obtained are nationally recognize and portable from either the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) or the American Welding Society (AWS).
If you have any questions, please call Ben Kohler either at (406) 565-0190 or (406) 494-8113 or email bkohler@uatitanium.com.
