Where Is The Best Old-School Italian Restaurant In Montana?
Montana may be known for its steaks, wild game dinners, and, of course, Butte's famous pasty, but one Italian restaurant has made its mark on the Treasure State's food scene. According to Cheapism, Lydia's Supper Club in Butte has officially been crowned Montana's best old-school Italian restaurant.
There's just something about those timeless Italian places that have been around forever. You know the kind, dimly lit rooms, wood paneling that tells stories, tablecloths, and a smell that hits you like a warm hug the second you walk in. Lydia's has all of that and more.
Since 1946, Lydia's Supper Club has been serving hearty Italian meals that come with a side of nostalgia and Montana hospitality. The place has history baked into every plate. Back when Meaderville was a buzzing Italian-American neighborhood filled with supper clubs and nightlife, Lydia's was there. Today, it's the last one standing, keeping the tradition alive with its multi-course spreads, famous dishes, and homemade ravioli that could make you forget about your diet for a week.
Even the late Anthony Bourdain couldn't resist the charm. When he visited back in 2015, he ordered "Pickled beets, sweet potato salad, salami and cheese, side salad, pickled peppers, breadsticks, large scallops in white wine sauce, and extra-thick beef tenderloin."

Now run by Lydia's grandchildren the supper club continues to serve as a living love letter to Montana's past. If you want a taste of real Montana history with a splash of Italian flair, Lydia's Supper Club should be at the top of your list.
