Lil’ Dribbler Basketball League begins this Saturday at East Middle School
One advantage that sports-minded residents of Southwest Montana have over many other areas is the accessibility and variety of youth sports leagues, activities and programs that are available to their children. One such program is starting up its 11th year of activity with the appropriate motto of "start 'em young, raise 'em right". I am talking about the incredible Lil Dribbler Basketball League which will be firing up this Saturday morning. And boy, do they start 'em young.
Lil Dribblers is open to kids from one day old (although slightly older is also acceptble) through 7 years of age, although they are willing to fudge a little on that limit as well. The Lil Dribbler League is, in simple terms, an open gym where the kids are grouped with kids of similar ages and skill sets and simply learn the basics of the game and the equipment at their own pace and they have a lot of fun in the process while getting a bit of exercise.
Lil Dribblers will get the season underway this Saturday from 9am to 11am at East Middle School, 2600 Grand Avenue. The program will run through March 29 with the exceptions of January 5th, February 8th and February 22nd as the East Gym is not available. Organizers are currently looking for an alternate site for those dates.
Reservations are not required and if you require further details or information, please contact Mike Bauer at (406) 490-7491 or Matt Paul at (406) 560-3520. There is no charge to participate thanks to the generosity of local businesses and organizations like Play 2 Win Tix, Mariah's Challenge, First Montana Bank, Harrington Pepsi, Universal Athletics and UpTop Clothing.
