Help needed in preparation for Saturday’s Clothing Drive Distribution
How do you fold a mountain of clothes? Well, logic would state that one shirt at a time would be the best and most effective way. Let me tell you, a literal mountain of clothes has been dropped off at the final collection point of the annual Harrington Pepsi/Butte Cares Clothing Drive, the old Stage/Events Center are in the south end of the Butte Plaza Mall, and it is going to take a lot of sorting, folding and organizing to get things ready for Saturday's distribution. Folding one shirt at a time will go a lot smoother and faster if there are many hands at work.
Today (Wednesday) is the final day for donations of clothing, blankets, boots, hats, gloves, winter gear and such items is today at Walmart, Denny Menholt Ford, 3 Bears Alaska, Steele's Warehouse, Ace Hardware and the Chamber of Commerce here in Butte and at Dee Motor Company in Anaconda. This means that more donations will be rolling in and in need of sorting. Can you lend a helping hand?
Volunteers need not even make an appointment. Just bring yourself and a positive attitude to the Butte Plaza Mall and volunteers from Butte Cares will most definitely find ways you can help in preparation for this Saturday's free distribution which will start at 10am. Free lunch, haircuts and flu shots will be made available starting at 11am. All in need are welcome with open arms, including families.
