This time last week we were talking about how the boys' side of the Southwestern A conference was up for grabs.  One week later, nothing has changed.  After claiming the #1 ranking in State A, Butte Central got past Frenchtown on Thursday night while dropping a nail-biter to Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.  The Maroons come into the week with an overall record of 13-3 with a 6-2 mark in conference play and while things will not get easier, at the end of the week we will finally know how the teams will finish the regular season and we will have our pairings for the play-in games next week and ultimately the Western A Divisional Tournament February 22nd through the 24th at the Butte Civic Center.

But first things first.  On Thursday both the Butte Central boys and girls will celebrate Senior Parent Night with a varsity doubleheader against the Dillon Beavers with the boys game at 6pm and the girls at 7:30. The Dillon boys manhandled the Maroons 49-35 in Dillon on January 19th while the girls were on the losing end of a 63-16 blowout.  Needless to say, both Central teams will have revenge on their minds.  In sub varsity play, the freshmen will actually get the action started on Tuesday afternoon with the boys' game at the Maroon Activities Center at 4:30pm and the girls to follow at 6pm.  The boys JV game will be Thursday at 3pm with the girls to follow at 4:30.

On Saturday, the girls will be at home against the Corvallis Blue Devils with the freshmen at 1pm, the JVs at 2:30pm and the varsities at 4pm. The boys will follow the same schedule on the road at Corvallis.  The girls lost a close one to the Blue Devils on the road January 16, 43-37 while the boys won at the MAC, 65-43.
