Mile High Wrestling Camp slated for July 31-August 2
It is indeed a fair assumption to say that the wrestling heritage in the Mining City is a strong one. From the Butte Bulldogs boys' dynasty and their incredible string of state championships a few decades back to the large number of competitors today in search of their own success on the mat, wrestling in Butte is still a damn big deal. Perhaps even bigger today since girls wrestling is now sanctioned by the Montana High School Association and is off to a great start not only in Butte across Montana as well.
Coming July 31 through August 2, the coaching staffs of both the Butte High boys and girls wrestling programs will conduct a wrestling camp for young athletes from 5 years of age up to incoming seniors. The camp will be split into two groups with younger wrestlers from ages 5 to 9 meeting from 8:30am to 10am and the older wrestlers, ages 10 to seniors, will meet in the evenings from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Both camps will take place in the wrestling room at Butte High School and will be conducted not only by the boys and girls wrestling staffs but also Arizona State alum Jacen Petersen. More clinicians are presently being booked. The cost per wrestler is $40 with a $5 discount for families with multiple campers.
You can get all of the registration information by clicking here. Please remember that each camper must be registered individually. Payment can be made by cash or check on the first day of camp but if you would like to get that out of the way, you can Venmo Cory Johnston @wrestler125.
