Fun things happening in Butte this week
We may be feeling the chill of the approaching autumn air but there is still plenty of summer left and a lot of events to look forward to this week here in the Mining City.
THURSDAY - MUSIC ON MAIN
Food trucks, a great social setting, live music and even the occasional Bubble Machine for the kids, Music on Main is always a hit. This week the series shows it's Country and Western side as Shodown, a high-energy country band out of Missoula will be playing everything from the classic hits to current songs you hear on the radio today.
SATURDAY - ENGINE 25 FUNDRAISER
Engine 25, the last steam locomotive used in the Mining City and a key part of our town's development, has fallen into disrepair. Join in a fundraiser this Saturday at the Butte Civic Center from noon to 6pm and take part in a live and silent auction and take a look at the many historical displays that will be on hand.
SATURDAY - EAST/WEST ALL STAR BASEBALL GAME
Think of the annual football Shrine Game but on the baseball diamond. Saturday, the best of last year's Senior Class will represent Eastern Montana and Western Montana in a game whose proceeds will go to a Northwest Children's Hospital to be determined. This is the inaugural game and it will be played at Butte's Miners Field at 3 Legends Stadium this Saturday at 4pm. Gates and festivities will begin at 2pm so get there early.
