Orediggers Sweeps First Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Weekly Football Honors

HELENA, Mont.- The Frontier Conference announces the Frontier Conference / Erck weekly awards, featuring three Montana Tech winners following their upset win over No. 3 Georgetown.
Offensive Player of the Week: Landers Smith (Montana Tech)
Smith, a senior from Charlo, Montana, is the Offensive Player of the Week.
In Tech's 29-22 win over Georgetown, Smith rushed for 201 yards on 34 carries, setting career bests in both categories. Smith also ran for two touchdowns and averaged 5.9 yards per carry.
This is Smith's first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
Defensive Player of the Week: Jadyn Downs (Montana Tech)
Downs, a senior from Pocatello, Idaho, was a quarterback's worst nightmare in Tech's win over Georgetown.
Downs pulled in three interceptions in the 29-22 win, including running one of them back for a 43-yard touchdown. His three interceptions tied a school record in a single game. He also contributed five tackles in the winning effort.
This is Downs' first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Andrew Almos (Montana Tech)
Almos, a junior from Great Falls, Montana, was named the Special Teams Player of the Week.
The 2023 AFCA First Team All-American picked up where he left off a season ago, averaging 45.3 yards per punt on his four punts against No. 3 ranked Georgetown, pinning two of them inside the 20-yard line and booting a long of 57 yards.
This is Almos' second career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
