Montana Tech is into the round of 16 for the first time in program history.

The Orediggers next opponent is William Penn of Iowa. The Statesman are the #1 seed in the Cramer Quadrant (the Diggs the #4 seed) (The Full NAIA bracket can be viewed HERE.) They finished the regular season as the #8 team in the country, finishing the season 27-3. William Penn plays in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, where they won the regular season title, and the tournament championship as well.

The Statesman are the best rebounding team in the country, averaging 16 offensive and 33 defensive rebounds a game. They are also the second-highest-scoring team in the country, putting up 90 points a contest (helped out greatly by those 16 offensive rebounds a game).

The top-seeded William Penn trailed Rio Grande 29-19 at the half -in their round of 32 game- and exploded for 53 points in the second half. Turning a 12-point deficit into an 11-point win. The Statesman are heading to their 8th straight round of 16 appearance in their 13th overall NAIA Tournament.
