Veterans Day Services and more set for Monday in the Mining City
Veteran's Day is Monday and many services and events are planned in the Mining City to honor and respect those who have served in our nation's armed forces, particularly those who have seen combat and still feel the effects of war today. There are many. We thank you for what you have given to your country and your brothers and sisters in arms. We thank you for the freedoms afforded us today.
There are many things happening in honor of Veteran's Day in Butte, including services starting at 10am at the Butte Civic Center with the theme "Remembering those who answered their Nation's call" presented by the United Veterans' Council. Included in the service will be a moment of silence in honor of our departed comrades as well as invocation by Chaplain Jeremy Moon as well as remarks from representatives of Senators Jon Tester and Steve Daines. Chief Executive J.P. Gallagher and Sheriff Ed Lester will also share their gratitude and the keynote speaker will be Mike Lawson. Activities and refreshments will be provided courtesy of Bill Melvin and the crew at the Civic Center, America Legion Post 1, Ladies Auxiliary Post 1, UFC & VFW Post 1448, Marine Corps League SW Det. 724 and Duggan Dolan Mortuary.
