It is officially the postseason for the Butte High boys and girls basketball teams and both squads will be hosting play-in games this Friday evening at Ross J. Richardson Memorial Gym on the campus of Butte High School. Win and advance to the State Tournament next weekend at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman. Lose and your season is over. For the Bulldogs, it truly is that simple.

The Class AA basketball regular season is wrapping up this week and the Butte High Bulldogs will be sending off their senior class with their final home games along with pregame ceremonies slated for the girls on Tuesday evening and the boys to follow on Thursday. All events will take place at Ross J. Richardson Memorial Gym on the campus of Butte High School.

With wrestling, swimming and speech & debate having crowned winners and champions, the high school sports schedule has only basketball on this week's radar and both Butte High and Butte Central's boys and girls teams play only a single game this week, all facing league foes on the road, save for the BC girls.

The Butte High Bulldogs hosted the Glacier High School Wolfpack from Kalispell in a boys-girls basketball doubleheader at the Butte Civic Center on Friday evening and came out victorious in both contests.

Mining City basketball fans will be getting an early Christmas present Friday night at the Butte Civic Center as the Butte High Bulldogs take on the Butte Central Maroons for Mining City bragging rights in a girls/boys doubleheader.

The Butte High Bulldogs will enter the Western AA Divisional tournament as the 7 seed. Their first opponent will be the Bravettes of Kalispell Flathead.

With the regular season drawing to a close, Butte High School prepares for Helena High.

Butte High school has 3 games left in the regular season. The Dogs have one game this week, (Friday) against the Spartans of Missoula Sentinel. Next week they will close with the Helena Schools, Helena High on Tuesday, and Capital on Saturday.

The Butte High girls will welcome the Hellgate Knights to Ross Richardson tonight for a Western AA battle.

With the City Championship behind us, that leaves seven games in the Butte High basketball regular season. Those seven games represent the second trip through the Western AA.
