This year's Dream Big Montana Experience has been set for Thursday and Friday, June 26th and 27th. Thursday is going to be big in Uptown Butte with the Family Fun Area running from 3 to 6pm and a big evening show on Park Street featuring three FMX performances from Keith Sayers, two performances from Butte's Levi Blom and the finale with country star Travis Denning.
One of the longest-serving and most respected officials in Montana sports history was honored before Saturday's Butte High/Butte Central boys city championship basketball game at the Butte Civic Center, surrounded by colleagues, friends and family. Butte's Mike Anderson received a standing ovation from an enthusiastic and receptive Butte crowd as he received a plaque commemorating his recent induction into the Montana Officials Hall of Fame.
Well, tomorrow is the start of a furious couple of days as Colt Anderson's "Dream Big Montana Experience" hits Uptown Butte with daredevils, concerts, family fun, a big fundraiser and, of course, the kids football camp. A huge crowd is expected so motorists should be aware of larger than usual pedestrian traffic Uptown as well as some street closures that will begin at 6am tomorrow morning (Thursday).
Colt Anderson is bringing out the big guns for the Dream Big Montana experience and he's keeping things locally. He's got Tommy Mellott and and Dylan Cook coming in to instruct alongside NFL veterans and coaches at the skills camp. He's also keeing it locally in other aspects as well. Let's talk about the musical entertainment side of things. Thursday night, June 27th Uptown Butte is in for a treat and the stars are all homegrown.
Colt Anderson's Dream Big Foundation has set the dates and locations for the Dream Big Montana Experience 2024, and it is safe to say that Uptown Butte will be rocking on Thursday and Friday, June 27th and 28th with everything from a Tim Montana concert to a football skills camp.
Tim Montana is no stranger to the road, even before he became a bona fide rock star. Since he started in the business, it was not uncommon for Tim and his band to play in Nashville on a Thursday, play a show in Montana on Saturday and somehow make it back to the East Coast for events early the following week. Following his foray into hard rock music and the success of the first three singles from his upcoming CD release, "Savage," it should come as little surprise that Tim follows the same principle when touring the Treasure State these days, just on a smaller scale.
Dream Big has always been Colt Anderson's mantra. So has giving back to the community which he continues to inspire as for another summer, Colt will be bringing the "Dream Big Montana Experience" to the Mining City. The skills camp is open to youngsters entering kindergarten through 8th Grade, is absolutely free and immensely popular.
Travelling basketball teams these days are almost a prerequisite for any young boy or girl across the state with ambitions of making the team in high school. And as any parent of a potential athlete will tell you, travelling teams are not free. Nor are they cheap. But thanks to a couple of incredible local youth organizations teaming up, scholarships are available that ensures every Butte kid in the 3rd through 8th grade can participate regardless of financial abilities, and a huge upcoming tournament has been named in commemoration.
Through his "Dream Big Foundation", Colt Anderson for several summers now has brought world-class athletes, entertainers and leaders to Butte for the Dream Big Montana Experience which will officially begin tonight Uptown with an incredible evening of fun, food and entertainment including freestyle motocross jumps from Keith Sayers and his crew and music from Butte's own Levi Blom and Missoula's Shodown.
