The Mother Lode Theatre is excited to continue their Underground Comedy Series! Coming March 4th to the Orphan Girl stage in the basement of the Mother Lode (hence "underground"), it's the hilarious comedic stylings of TK Moyer! As brought to light by "Do The Bay" online, Moyer has been entertaining audiences since 2010! He tested his early material on Navy shipmates and later went on to perform at Cobb's Comedy Club & the Punch Line, and the African- American Shakespeare Company in San Francisco. Moyer is currently an open mic regular at Edinburgh Castle Pub in the bay area and select venues across the world. With credentials like that, you know you'll be in for a great show this Saturday in Uptown Butte.
Where to start when it comes to this guy? I mean, every time he hits the stage, he has us believing hook, line, and sinker that his "side-kick" co-hosts actually have a mind of their own and, furthermore, that they're REAL! Of course, I'm talking about the multi-talented Jeff Dunham, who is set to make two appearances in Montana this April during his "Still Not Cancelled" Tour"! On the one hand (pun intended), he's a ventriloquist who brilliantly knows how to throw his voice with some of the most hilarious one-liners and comedy bits to ever come out of his clenched jaw. No doubt he knows how to grab the audience's attention because Jeff Dunham is pretty d*mn funny and so much more.
We all need a good laugh from time to time. Family, colleagues, and friends crack us up at the right moment, and then there are the times we "seek out" a good laugh by binge-watching our favorite sitcom or stand-up comedian on television and other forms of media. But, what's even better, is when you can catch a LIVE comedy act! Thanks to the Mother Lode Theatre, a chance to laugh the night away is underway, with the start of their Underground Comedy Series Saturday, January 21st! That's when you can catch the comedic stylings of stand-up comedian and writer Logan Guntzelman. Gutzelman was recently chosen as a stand-out at Montreal's Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and even dominated New York's Roastmasters Invitational. Guntzelman's laugh-a-minute antics have also earned her invitations to comedy festivals in Boston and the 10,000 Laughs Festival in Minneapolis.
To completely fulfill the holiday season, local theatre is a nice added touch! Since early December, Cutler Brothers Theatre in Deer Lodge has brought to the stage the production of Home Alone II, Lost in New York. Cutler Brother's presentations know how to "bring it", and you may even recognize an actor or two during the performance. According to Cutler Brother insiders, after a successful run of the original Home Alone in December of 2021, theatre directors and producers knew the stage adaptation of John Hughes' Christmas comedy sequel would be a hit on the Cutler Brothers' stage. As a result, many of the same scenes and characters portrayed in the film are front and center for the LIVE theatre version in Deer Lodge.

This pristine traveling "Parks" ensemble just completed a show at The Mother Lode in Butte this past Sunday and will continue with performances in Whitehall, Anaconda, Helena, Philipsburg, and Dillon NOW through next Tuesday!

The faint at heart need not apply when solving a real-life murder mystery. However, when it's all in good, harmless fun and part of a theatrical stage production, then, by all means, attendees are highly encouraged to participate. That is exactly what can be expected during the production of Pat Cook's 'You Have the Right to Remain Dead' performed at the Copper Village Museum and Arts Center in Anaconda, September 29th through October 9th. The production is under the direction of Sue Konicek of Anaconda's Open Theatre Project.
