"Love in the Rockies", the latest original production opens tonight at Butte's Covellite Theater. It's premise? Two drastically different couples wind up booking the same Air BnB in Leadville, Colorado over Valentine's Day weekend and as luck would have it, they become snowed in.

One of Butte's most popular and talented singer/songwriters will be part of an incredible "songwriters in the round" performance this weekend at one of Butte's best venues for live music and concerts. Local favorite Chad Okrusch will be joined by fellow Montana songwriters Lee Calvin and Jarret Kostrba this Saturday at the Covellite Theater for "Montana Roots: Americana Songwriters Showcase".

If there is one bright spot in the days following the return of Daylight Savings Time it is, well, the return of Dark. Dark Sevier, that is. Tuesday night at the Covellite Theater, 215 W. Broadway in Uptown Butte, the “Dark Nights of Winter” open mic series begins its second season after an impressive run on the soapbox in the commons last year. All ages and styles of performance are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Well that certainly didn't take long. Bobby Lee, a veteran of MAD TV, Chelsea Lately and a host of popular podcasts as well as numerous successful stand-up comedy shows and tours announced a show this Saturday night at the Covellite Theater that sold out in hours. Fear not. A second show has been added for 10pm, but tickets are going quickly for this one too.

I was not even a full year in my career with this Butte group of radio stations when the panic button was firmly pressed in our GM's office. It was 2003 and the group in charge of funding the annual 3rd of July Fireworks Show was out of money. There were not funds to cover that summer's upcoming fireworks show on the 3rd of July. It was that day, I believe, that we went on-air and started collecting donations from listeners. Soon local businesses joined in and started challenges with other local businesses in their respective fields. Donations and momentum continued to grow until the final day of the donation drive where we teamed up with our radio friends down the street from the Butte Broadcasting Group and did a citywide bucket drive on the corner of Harrison and Dewey live on all of Butte's local commercial radio stations and wound up getting enough donations to fund the fireworks show for not only that year but for the next three years. After that, Brooks Hanna Ford picked up the bill for a few years. And since then, Town Pump has been the sole sponsor of the annual 3rd of July Fireworks Show

Attention young, potential Eddie Van Halens, Chad Smiths, Paul McCartneys and Eddie Vedders. If you have had a yearning to rock, have always wanted to play in a band or even if you've just been practicing alone in your garage, the Covellite Theater has something that might just be of interest to you. The 2024 Youth Rock Summer Music Program is gearing up to start its inaugural season and young rockers are invited to help make it a success.

The Covellite Theater at 215 W. Broadway in Uptown Butte is quickly becoming a regular meeting place for those looking for shows, movies and more. This week will bring another enjoyable series of events for you to check out starting with "Youth Open Mic Nite" tonight

As one who works in a fast-paced media environment, I am very familiar with strict deadlines and working under pressure. That is, I thought I was until I read about the Ten24 play series that is coming to the Covellite Theater next Saturday, June 1. What they're doing makes my work look like child's play. And since this is in conjunction with the Orphan Girl Children's Theater, many of those who are taking part in this literally are kids. So, that kind of adds insult to injury.

Fans of comedy, you're going to want to be at the Covellite Theater this Saturday night as Mo Mandel will be hitting the stage with special guests Lukas Seeley and Peyton Waters. This show is going to be a fantastic combination of a nationally-known talent along with a couple of local stars who are quickly rising.

The last time this band came to town they played upstairs at the Knights of Columbus Hall, and they turned a Butte-Irish landmark into a Texas honky tonk. Well, at least for an evening. This time around, they're playing one of Montana's hottest up-and-coming live music venues and since we've seen them last, they have collaborated with one of the biggest names in Country Music and have a lot of new music to share and are in the midst of a whirlwind tour, so anything could happen.
