The girls side of the Western A Divisional Basketball Tournament tipping off Thursday at the Butte Civic Center looks like it's going to be a dandy.  Frenchtown and Bigfork each come into play with one loss apiece.  Bigfork's lone blemish came to Frenchtown by three points in their season opener and they haven't lost a game since.  Frenchtown's lone loss?  To the Dillon Beavers.  Who were beaten earlier by Bigfork. In short, something's got to give.  Let's take a look at the first-round matchups.

THURSDAY, 12PM: HAMILTON (3SW) VS. BROWNING (2NW)

Browning and Hamilton have not yet met each other on the hardwood this year.  The Broncs come into the contest with a 10-8 overall record, 6-4 in the Southwest A while the Indians are 13-5 overall, 10-2 in the Northwest.

THURSDAY, 1:30PM: FRENCHTOWN (1SW) VS. RONAN (4NW)

The Broncs and the Maidens met earlier this season and it wasn't even close with Frenchtown running away with a 63-31 victory.  Frenchtown is 17-1 overall and 9-1 in the Southwest.  Ronan is hot, though, as they had to win 2 play-in games to get to the tournament and come in at 8-11 overall and a 3-8 mark in the Northwest.

THURSDAY, 6:30PM: DILLON (2SW) VS. COLUMBIA FALLS (3NW)

A 31-point loss to the Dillon Beavers was one of the losses in a 1-5 start to the Columbia Falls season.  Since then, the WildKats have gone 8-4 and are looking to send Coach Cary Finberg back to the State Tournament as he has announced that this season will be his last.  The Dillon Beavers come into the tournament at 15-3 overall, 9-1 in the Southwest with their losses this year coming to Bigfork, Billings Central and Frenchtown.

THURSDAY, 8PM: CORVALLIS (4SW) VS. BIGFORK (1NW)

As mentioned earlier, Bigfork, after a season-opening loss to Frenchtown is on a 17-game winning streak.  They are 12-0 in the Northwest.  Corvallis is 5-13 overall and 4-6 in the Southwest.
