Demolition Derby and Concert will kick off the Summer June 8th in Dillon
If this is not the biggest summer kickoff party in Montana, it will definitely be the loudest. The Beaverhead County Fairgrounds will be the place as the Dillon Jaycees host the 51st Annual Demo Derby and summer kickoff concert with Saliva on Saturday, June 8th with fun stuff happening throughout the day.
DEMO DERBY
The Demo Derby is going to be crazy with a $15,500 purse and UTV Barrel Racing as a featured event for those 16 years of age and older. But back to the purse. There will be two classes, a Stock Car class paying the top 6 places with a first prize of $4,000 and a Herbie class which will pay out the top 4, first place getting a cool grand. Complete rules and information along with online ticket information is available on the Dillon Jaycees website. Gates at the Fairgrounds will open at 11am with action firing up at noon. Advance tickets are available in Dillon at Carquest, Napa, Dillon Video, The Mini, Womack's Printing or The 3D.
SUMMER KICKOFF CONCERT
Even if you miss the screeching metal from the Demolitioin Derby, there will be plenty of metal blasting from the stage of alt-rockers Saliva who will be performing at 8:30, gates opening at 7pm. Saliva was one of the top hard rock bands in the world in the late 90s and early 2000s with a string of Top 10 hits including, "Click, Click, Boom", "Your Disease", "Always" and "Rest in Pieces". The band is familiar with Montana Metalheads as they have performed several times in Butte and also at the Rockin' the Rivers festival a few years back.
Tickets to Saliva are $25 and are available in advance online.
